Mayors Prefer Shopping at Wal-Mart

Prices are falling at Wal-Mart
A south Arkansas mayor will go to court this week on charges she stole a city check and tried to spend it at a Wal-Mart.
Garland City Mayor Yvonne Dockery is accused of felony theft. She says she was merely trying to cash her payroll check.
However checks issued by Garland City must be signed by council members before they can be cashed. Authorities say Dockery’s check for $732.05 did not have those signatures when she tried to cash it.
Her arraignment is set for Tuesday in Miller County Circuit Court.

i’m not to sure about this one. Many peole forget to sign checks, especially those in higher authority. If she was due the check and her peers failed to sign it, it could be an honest mistake. If your suppose to get paid on a certain day, you should get paid on that day. not wait around for the powers to be to decide when its convenient for them to take care of financial resposibilities. All checks should be signed on a certain day and time and be out at a specified time. I may keep an eye on this one. Plus the fact she was at Walmart. Tells me she’s a budget shopper. Maybe they had the beef brisket on sale and just had to get it today. Sale ends tomorrow you know.
