Atlantic Beach Mayor Wins Beauty Contest

“Hey, did you happen to see the most beautiful girl in the world, and if you did, was she cryyy-ing, o-ver me, cryyyyying, over me”
That really is one of my favorite songs……
Atlantic Beach, SC Mayor Retha Pierce has been charged with hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving with no insurance. The accident happened within sight of town hall. Pierce reportedly got out of her vehicle, looked at the damage, and got back in her vehicle and drove off. The victim in the case, 51-year-old Dorothy Montgomery, told police she was driving south on US 17 when a white Chevrolet Trailblazer sideswiped her 2002 Ford Taurus, according to a police report.
Several people who witnessed the incident reported it to police, as well as signed sworn affidavits that it was in fact Retha Pierce in the accident. Pierce was spotted by police driving through town hours later. She was then arrested and is being held in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
This is not Pierce’s first time to have a run in with officials in Atlantic Beach. On Jan. 28, Atlantic Beach Police arrested Pierce after she went to town hall and started arguments with town officials two days in a row, according to Chief Randy Rizzo.
Cell phone video shot by Atlantic Beach Police of the argument showed Taylor and Pierce in a heated argument that at one point caused Rizzo to step in and hold Pierce back.
Police broke up the argument and both sides went their separate ways, according to police.
The next day police said Pierce returned to town hall, argued with town employees again and was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing after being told to leave multiple times, according to police.
Horry County Police arrested and charged Pierce with resisting arrest and reckless driving on Dec. 25, 2007 after officer Robert Dale pulled Pierce over near Little River.
A Horry County jury could not reach a verdict in the case in October, with five jurors voting to convict, and one juror deciding Pierce was not guilty.
Pierce is awaiting a new trial on the 2007 charges.
Pierce filed a federal lawsuit against five town employees, including Chief Rizzo, town manager Kenneth McIver, mayor pro-tem Charlene Taylor, town clerk Cheryl Pereira, and former interim town manager Charles Williams.
The federal suit seeks damages in connection to the arrest and what Pierce calls a “coup” she claims town leaders staged against her.
The writers here at MyMayorSucks think that Ms. Pierce may be on the pipe. We do not know this for sure, but think that she is showing signs of being on da pipe.

Is everyone presiding over Horry county complete morons?? I think people should leave Mayor Pierce Alone. Maybe if Horry County, Myrtle Beach and all the other ignorant people in this area will let her do her job, Maybe they will see she can be a fine mayor. If you people can not see conspiracy all over her arrests you are completely blind!! Just because her views are not exactly what Myrtle Beach or Horrible Horry County wants or likes does not make her a criminal. The things I have been watching this county put her thru is obnoxious, I wish she would hire me as her body guard, She sure needs one. Leave the women do her job and get out of her way. This area needs more people just like her in office, then, maybe just then this town and county can make money the correct way, with hard work and effort, you guys can’t sit on your butts and expect that tax to fill your pocket forever, especially when you are the ones killing your own area. Then Myrtle Beach and Horry County has so many illegal, and idiot businesses who conduct business in the most unethical ways I have ever seen and turn your blind eye to that, yet arrest a woman who is mayor trying to get into her own city hall. Remind me but does the mayor not preside over her own town hall?? HELLO!!!! Look around you IDIOTS in office and running things around here, people are leaving and the only jobs offered here are ridiculous online make money from home scams, where are the jobs, where are the residents going, as far away from here as they can that is where. You all better wake up or there will be no towns left for anyone to visit or tour to. You say she is the laughing stock of Myrtle Beach, I think it is Myrtle beach and Horrible Horry County themselves being laughed at. GO MAYOR PIERCE.

ummm. Are you serious. She obviously has a drinking problem. An addiction is an addiction. Judgements cannot be made clear and decisively on a clouded mind. So should you just leave her alone so she can go out and hit another vehicle next time. Maybe a vehicle with you or one of your family members in it. How would you feel then. As usual the flash forward never goes through anyones mind. And she was allowed to go to her own town hall. She went there for two days. After the second day of aruging with people she was finally considered to be distrubing the peace and arrested. If you don’t kow how to behave in a civil manner, then don’t go to work. If i went to work every day and argued with my coworkers for two days straight i’d be fired. She was obviously doing more harm then good. Some people can only take so much bs. Vote her out!
