My Mayor Sucks

It seems Mayor Eddie Price of Mandeville, La tried to write off a trip to New Orleans to attend a friends wedding. He claims that there was city business discussed while at the wedding with Finance Director Milton Stiebing and then-Public Works Director Joe Mistich. The Mayor drove the city owned vehicle to the wedding and paid for parking and a tidy little bill at the hotel.

This is probably the least of his worries. The auditors have been digging deeper and have uncovered some expenses that make the wedding look subtle in nature. It seems the honorable Mayor liked to watch a little golf as well. The state audit, which was released in August, described more than $5,000 in unreimbursed personal expenses and $42,000 in meals. Trips to California and a trip to Augusta, Ga., for the Masters golf tournament were among the excursions that the auditors concluded had nothing to do with city business.

The FBI and state attorney general have opened investigations into the issues raised by the audit.
