The Man who Made a Floor Disappear
It seems that Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton is somewhat of a Magician. He has done some miraculous things in his tenure as the Mayor of Memphis. All that live here in Memphis, as well as the ones that have moved because of his miraculous doings, know in great detail what he has accomplished. None of which has helped the city without helping him or his friends and associates. I won’t bore you with the:
Race baiting
No-bid contract awards
Hiring of unqualified people, who were once his bodyguards, to important jobs that paid over 100k. This is so they don’t tell of all the dirty deeds done dirt cheap….
Profiting from the Greyhound bus station deal; It was only 90k
Having a bodyguard that was convicted of selling drugs while she was his driver, then fixing her up with a job once she got out.
Supporting a worthless police chief. I haven’t seen anymore newsflashes where Herenton is with the police when they close up drug houses.
Having a child out of wedlock; that he only admitted to having or supporting after the press released it
Using school funds to create a job for a woman that he was having an affair with; (sorry, that was before he was mayor, and we still elected him) He was only the MCS superintendent then, etc, etc…
I’m sorry, these are things that we already knew. It seems now that Mayor Herenton can make the floors disappear. He has done so at the FedEx Forum parking garage. My question is did he try and double dip when Herman Morris was in command? It seems like a pretty sweet deal that they gave to the Grizzlies, or was it. They probably knew that their was no money to be made because of the economy here in Memphis, evident of the people who are fleeing to get away from the corruption and crime.
Herenton didn’t make any of us feel too safe when he announced, “that if you don’t like it here, then leave”. I think I know who he was referring to when he made that statement. All us white devils. The taxpayers. That didn’t really send a good message to the people in Memphis who conduct criminal activity, or the ones thinking about it. It really let those people know that this town is wide open and anything goes.
As far as the drawings for the garage missing, that’s really a non issue. There are plans and drawings somewhere and the feds will find them. In doing the math for the garage at 6 floors divided into 20 million, that’s roughly 3.33 million per floor, so someone got fat somewhere.
I really think this is going to be a no brainer for the feds to take care of legally, but convicting a prominent African American Robin Hood in Memphis may prove to be quite a difficult undertaking. Speaking of undertaking, remember Edmund “My God Is a Good God” Ford? So, basically Herenton is one COGIC hat away from a hung jury.
One place for the feds to look is in the Elvin Moon Camp and find out what he knows about the garage. I’m sure that Herenton bent his ear a little when the plan came up. He probably needed a little guidance that was not local to the area. And for that guidance comes a contract or kickback.
It’s all there, it just needs to be found. Once the feds get Jim Rout, Moon, Lipscomb, Aviotti, and the long list of others in that little room alone and explain the law, then some hard but needed decisions will have to be made. Mainly decisions that are as simple as being able to get a McDonald’s cheeseburger at nine at night or having to wait until the next day and get a Mars Bar from the commissary; that’s what they call it in prison, the commissary. So, as for Herenton being a magician, I was just fool’n around. He’s no magician. He didn’t make a floor disappear. Because if he was a magician, he would have already made it reappear.
